Elizabeth Iamba Mullens, a graduate of Kendall College of Art and Design, draws inspiration from the natural beauty of her hometown, Harbor Springs, Michigan. Rooted in her faith, her oil paintings reflect a deep appreciation for Northern Michigan's landscapes—its peaceful, inviting waters, open fields, and radiant skies.
Known for her expressive brushwork and vibrant use of color, Elizabeth captures the essence of the landscape rather than its exact likeness. By using unexpected hues—such as a red base coat to add warmth and movement—she creates pieces that are rich, dynamic, and deeply personal.
“Through my art,” Elizabeth shares, “I hope to leave you feeling uplifted and inspired, reminding you of nature's wonders and the stories it silently whispers, as well as the joy of reconnecting with what you love.”
Elizabeth lives in Grand Rapids with her husband, Jeremy, and their two children. The name “Iamba,” passed down from her great-grandmother, is as unique as her painting style.
